Firestone
addressed a letter to Les Robinson of Essex on this day in 1926.
Robinson had been accepted into one of their training classes.
As
automobiles became more popular, auto repair became a profitable
new vocation. Robinson opened a service station on Pearl Street,
providing motorists a place to fill up with gasoline and to get
repairs.
Firestone
Tires offered a pneumatic tire training class in Cleveland, and
Robinson applied. His acceptance letter read, “We hope you
will take advantage of their teachings and will soon return as a
full fledged repairman, able to put out high grade work which produces
the profits.”
