Vermont was reading about new rules for the game of Basketball on
this day in 1944. Just the day before, the Vermont State Basketball
Officials' Association had held their annual meeting.
irst matter of business was a test for Vermonters wishing to become
officials. Of 13, only five passed.
Next
was a meeting with the Coach's Association to discuss new
rules proposed by the National Inter-Collegeiate Association. After
some discussion, they voted to accept.
The
new rules meant five fouls would be allowed instead of four and
a player could now enter and leave a game an unlimited number of
times.
