Kids
were very excited about going to the Burlington Auditorium on this
day in 1970. They were going to be part of the Trooper Yancy Show!
Yancy
Stillinger entertained young children with music and with his well-known
dummy, Trooper Hooper. The show aired on channel 22, WVNY-TV Monday
through Friday from 4:30 until 5:30 in the afternoon. Trooper Yancy
was a mix of local breaks and Warner Brothers cartoons.
Normally,
the show was recorded in a Burlington TV studio, but today’s
auditorium audience would be bigger. The kids were excited to see
Trooper Yancy, and for the chance to be on TV.

Trooper Hooper in their collections.
A
special thanks to Mary Rogstad for allowing us to film Trooper Hooper
for the television episode.
