| On October 12, 1970, little did the
ladies of the Dummerston Church know what a tradition they were
about to start. They made and sold 100 pies to raise money.
The Dummerston Apple Pie Festival has grown ever since. These days,
it takes an army of pie makers who start their operation a full
two weeks before the festival. They peel and chop apples, and bake
100 pies a night.
The Dummerston Grange presents a craft fair and the fireman serve
up a pancake breakfast.
The Dummerston Apple Pie Festival is now one of autumn’s
biggest...and most delicious events. Idyllic Dummerston, usually
quiet, comes alive for pie.
