It's a tribute to Wayne and Elizabeth Sarcka's vision.
Because of them, there's a ranch in Cuttingsville where the payback for hard work is a new perspective on life.

A gathering of friends and family took place in Montpelier on September 1, 2007, to pay tribute to the lives and accomplishments of Wayne and Elizabeth Sarcka.

This date marks the 75th anniversary of Spring Lake Ranch which they founded on a mountaintop in Cuttingsville in 1932.

Spring Lake Ranch became a working farm and retreat for adults 17 and older who experience emotional, psychiatric and addiction illnesses. Work duties occupy five hours per day, five days per week, and include forestry, maple sugaring, haying, gardening and a summer farm stand.

The Sarckas discovered the property while on their honeymoon.
